My magazine market analysis hepled me decide on what would look best on the cover of my particular magazine. Over 90% of the participants in the survey chose that both male and female models would look better than just one gender alone. so that the magazine does not seem too distracting, the colors cannot be very vibrant. Also, the colors have to fit in well with the heading and subheadings.  I researched magazines with both genders in the cover to see what mine might look like: 

In order to make my magazine better, I have set up a set of questions for my classmates to respond to: Do you read magazines? What is your favorite genre of magazines?  Vogue is an international magazine that explores the passion of fashion and the celebrities included in it. Every fashionista looks towards vogue as their inspiration. Elle does not only include fashion pictures and different wardrobes but it also includes discussions of beauty, politics, news, and relationships.  Allure is usually the main source of beauty info, ranging from expert hair advice to celebrity beauty tips.  Essence covers the latest in the fashion and beauty industry with a variety of ethnicities which makes the magazine so rich and true. Instyle offers a wide variety of fashion tips and designs. the topics discussed in this magazine include home entertaining and various aspects of style and fashion. 

The goal when marketing a magazine is to sell your product and have word of mouth spread your product. sponsors are also an easy way to market your magazine. Creating a brand will also help your magazine sell more or including a famous brand that is already known. It is easy and efficient to use social media platfrorm to advertise your magazine.

           

     The main image on the cover of a magazine is usually someone who represents the main reason of that magazine. For example, if it was a sports magazine, there would be a professional player on the cover. It draws in the attention of readers to have someone that is very popular on the cover. Sometimes magazines will match the color of the clothes with some letters on the heading and sub heading. Also, most times, a magazine will have either a tip or a heading on the top left since that,s usually where people start reading from.      The bar code always appears on the cover of the magazine due to advertisements on the back. On the headings and sub-headings, it has to be creative in order to catch peoples attention so alliteration is used frequently. 

Most of the time either one page or both pages are filled with a photograph of the content. Most of the time the photograph will be a famous one. Also, the title plays a big role in a double-page spread. The title is usually what catches the reader's eye if the title is interesting then the reader will obviously stay to read it. CODES      Codes are systems of signs that create meaning. There are two different types of categories: technical and symbolic. Technical codes are the way certain equipment is implemented to tell a story in a media text. For example, sound not working during a film. Symbolic codes show everything that we cannot see, what is beneath the surface. CONVENTIONS      Conventions are usually ways of doing something. conventions are genre-specific. Codes and conventions are used in any study of genre.       The title of the content is always a bigger font than the rest of content page. the bottom of the page includes the title, number of page, the date issued, and web address. Main categories contains what the readers either stay for or not. It has to be interesting and draw the readers attention. The sub lines give specific details about the article. There is also a main image that always has to do with the article.      On this post I will be mentioning the different types of genres of magazines. Some genres of magazines include: nature, entertainment, travel, business and finance, culinary, medical, and many more but those are the most popular ones. Some magazines are used to give helpful tips and others are made only for entertainment purposes.      Nature magazines include information about animals and their habitat also, images of different vegetation. Entertainment magazines include the news in different types of sports and television shows or movies that are airing. Travel magazines include different places around the world to travel and helpful tips you can use whilst traveling. Business and finance magazines give tips that people trying to climb up in the business world can use.
